Music teachers collaborate with OLI Music Director David Stewart Wiley to select repertoire that supports each ensemble’s artistic goals, creating a dynamic and collaborative learning environment.

Across ten hours of coaching, students refine technical skills, deepen ensemble listening, and gain a richer understanding of symphonic music. Concert day unites students, their coaches, and the full Orchestra Long Island for a celebratory performance. Residencies may also include student soloists, teacher‑conducted selections, commissioned works, choral participation, and access to master classes or rehearsals when available. OLI’s education staff customizes each residency in partnership with school leaders, with structure and pricing tailored to each program’s needs.
